Infertility I just wanted to briefly explain a phenomenon that occurred under chiropractic care. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for many years with no results. After being under chiropractic care for just 1 month, it happened. I still can’t believe it. I have heard chiropractic care has been beneficial in helping women with pregnancy problems, but I never thought it would help me. Thank you so much. I will continue with a wellness care program under chiropractic care forever. God bless! Ginger – Atlanta, GA Asthma & Hyperactivity Our family became acquainted with chiropractic care through our son, who was diagnosed as asthmatic at 2 _ years of age. He also has a central nervous system disorder that causes numerous symptoms including bouts of hyperactivity. Within two adjustments, his asthma was gone and has not returned. Within six months of receiving chiropractic care, his hyperactivity was greatly diminished. Our whole family now goes for regular adjustments under a chiropractic wellness care program. Our daughter had her first adjustment at 1 month old. Chiropractic has changed our lives by first changing our health . . . then our outlook on life. Antonio & Andrea – NYC, NY Bed Wetting My daughter, who is nine-years-old, has been a bed wetter since she stopped wearing diapers. I know at her age it is not unusual, but because it was an every night occurrence, I took her to our medical doctor just to make sure there were no infections. She was fine and healthy! Our doctor prescribed medication to try for 10 days. It didn’t work at all. So, he prescribed another drug but I could not bring myself to give it to her. I knew nothing about these drugs and I was concerned about the possible side effects she could experience later. I work for a chiropractor and he explained it could be a subluxation of her lumbar spine. Knowing what I do about the spine and its relationship with nerves, it made sense to me. If a subluxated vertebra is impinging a nerve, the nerve impulse can’t travel its path as effectively. I brought my daughter in and with regular chiropractic adjustments, her bed-wetting decreased. Now, instead of being wet five out of seven days a week, she is dry five out of seven days a week! This has really made life easier on everyone. My daughter is so happy to be dry and I am happy not to have to change bedclothes and sheets so often. It has also given my daughter higher self-esteem. Chiropractic has great benefits to offer children with various problems. Kristen & Carrie – New York, New York Ear Infections Her pediatrician was concerned and told us we were running out of alternatives. Stacy might have to have tubes surgically inserted into her ears. As a first-time mom, I couldn’t imagine handing my daughter over to a team of surgeons, being put under anesthesia and having surgery. Our family chiropractor would often suggest that “kids need chiropractic too.” I decided to give it a shot. Stacy had just developed another stubborn ear infection, which three sets of antibiotics failed to cure. I could not see her suffer, so I decided to give our trusty chiropractor a try. After Stacy’s first adjustment, on the way out to the car, she said she heard her ears pop and she could hear everything louder. And, guess what? Her ear infection was gone on her next pediatrician’s checkup! Stacy has had a few colds and allergy problems since then, which surely would have caused an ear infection before, but so far she is infection-free. I now know that “kids do need chiropractic, too!” what a wonderful, healthy alternative to antibiotics and ear tubes. Katrina & Stacey – Boston, MA Multiple Sclerosis I was introduced to chiropractic by a friend who lives with the same challenge I do: multiple sclerosis (MS). I was hesitant to go see a chiropractor because I was in the midst of a flare-up of my MS that left me mostly numb, with the right side of my body dragging, and with severe headaches. After attending a local chiropractor’s health care class, I agreed to try chiropractic. I was put on a program where I would be adjusted three times weekly. After just two weeks, I began to notice improvement in my health. The numbness started to subside, and within three more weeks, my body stopped dragging. I was astonished my flare-up never got any worse. Suddenly, here I was six weeks later with feeling in my extremities, virtually no headaches, and all signs of dragging gone. A miracle! I continue to see my chiropractor to this day. With a belief in the power of my body to heal and the gentle nurturing of a truly skilled chiropractor, the extent of my MS has been limited to light hand and feet numbness that ceases immediately after adjustment. I cannot possibly express all of the respect and love I hold for my chiropractor and his staff. I am now a firm believer in chiropractic for everybody. I hope anybody with multiple sclerosis will have faith and try chiropractic. Nancy – Austin, TX Vasculitis Before I began chiropractic care, there were numerous problems I was experiencing. For the past 11 years, I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune illness called vasculitis. With this illness, I would continuously have a low-grade fever, a (itchy) rash and outbreak on my legs and to top it off, sinus problems and infections. I had begun to take medication for my sinuses and for the first time in September, 1996, I took prednisone for the vasculitis. The prednisone did not take care of the elevated sedimentary rate or elevated liver function readings. I started chiropractic care in late September at which time I felt conventional medicine was no longer a choice for me. This has been my best fall/winter season (the usual time of my maladies). I have not had a fever, I no longer take any prescription medicines, I am not experiencing any trouble with my legs (rash/outbreak), and next to no problems with my sinuses. One thing unrelated to the vasculitis is that I have less to no problem with excessive stomach acid. This was an everyday occurrence in the past. Santo – Santa Clara, CA Deafness, etc. Within 60 days of beginning chiropractic care strictly for wellness care purposes, 3 amazing problems disappeared. I recovered the hearing in my deaf ear. This is something several surgeons said would never happen. I regained the long lost ability to breathe through my nose at night. Lastly, but far from least, I found the energy I thought was gone forever. I recommend chiropractic wellness care to everyone I meet. The changes that can occur in your life are indefinite.
